Our Strong Tower

One of my most favorite Bible verses is found in Proverbs 18. That's where we are at today with the Good Morning Girls.

Proverbs Summer Bible Study with Good Morning Girls

The name of the Lord is a strong tower;
the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
~Proverbs 18:10

In the Hebrew culture, names given were an expression of character. Lord is God's covenant name and expresses His character as our Savior. Our security and safety is found in His character as our faithful Savior.

Our Strong Tower

There is no other true security for the life of a Christian besides in the strong and saving arms of Jesus. He is our strong tower that we can run into when the evil of this world seeks to consume us.

It is His faithfulness, power, mercy, wisdom, and many other character qualities that we rely on as we fight this spiritual battle.

We can call on Jesus and lean on all that we know of His character when we grow weary in the spiritual battles of this life. There is power in His name.

It is all of Jesus' character qualities that form a strong tower that we can run into and be safe. That's why it's so important that we continue to grow in our knowledge of Who Jesus Christ is and all that makes up His character.

May we all recognize His strength and the security found in His shed blood alone for the forgiveness of our sins.

Jesus is our strong tower!

Walking in His Grace,
Laurie
