January Scripture Prayer Calendars for Your Husband and for Your Wife

Happy New Year friends! Welcome to a fresh start in 2017!

I want to apologize for not getting the December prayer calendars posted here on the blog. It was such a busy time and I just never got around to posting them here. I heard from a couple of you who were looking for them, so I just wanted you to know I'm sorry I let that slip.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! We did here. Lots of fun and laughter. My daughter and son-in-love had a very exciting announcement about a week before Christmas! They are expecting their 2nd child! I cannot wait to meet our new grandbaby in July! Maybe he/she will be born on my birthday (July 3)!

Do you choose a word for the New Year? I have in years past. I was considering not picking a word for this year, but today I decided I would because a word came to mind immediately as I was thinking over the events of 2016.

My family went through a lot in 2016, especially at the very beginning when my husband fell off a ladder at our church as he was taking down garland from our sanctuary. The months of recovery that followed were some of the hardest times we've walked through in our marriage. It was also some of the most intimate moments of experiencing God in ways that we wouldn't have otherwise. For that I am grateful. If you've been a reader here for a while, you know that I pick an ornament for our Christmas tree that depicts how we have experienced God throughout the year. Due to all that we endured in 2016 with the help of God, I knew that I wanted to have an ornament that referenced the passage in the Bible of the Great I Am. It was impossible to pick just one way we experienced God in 2016 because he was "the Great I Am" in so many different circumstances that we walked through in 2016. I typed up a little something and cut it out to put in an ornament that I found at WalMart. Here's a picture of it:

So back to my word for 2017. I've picked "VICTORIOUS" because no matter what 2017 holds for my family, I know that we can be VICTORIOUS because the Lord goes before us.

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
